Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) physiotherapy Chiropractic and podiatry help provide treatment for eligible DVA members. If you are a current or former serving member of the Australia defence force, you may be eligible for pensions or benefits from the DVA. These benefits may also apply if you are the spouse, widow, or child of an eligible DVA member or veteran.
Under the DVA benefits scheme, eligible clients can access physiotherapy, Chiropractic and podiatry treatment.
With DVA Gold Card holders, DVA will pay for physiotherapy services to meet your clinical needs. For DVA White Card holders, DVA will pay for those services if they are required due to an accepted war or service caused injury or disease.

Chiropractic is a safe and effective technique which treats the muscular skeletal system as a whole including the joints of the spine and body, muscles, ligaments, tendons and the neuro vascular system. Chiropractic uses manipulative techniques (adjusting/manipulation) and non-manipulative techniques (soft tissue massage, traction, mobilisation, stretching exercise prescription) in an attempt to reduce pain.

Also, all Foot And Ankle Clinic Podiatrists are registered to provide Podiatry services to Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Card holders.
The conditions that podiatrists can treat include joint and bone disorders, circulatory or neurological diseases and muscular issues. Some of the conditions that podiatrist can treat include:

- Blisters
- Corns and calluses
- Cracked heels, aching feet and heel spurs
- Ingrown and thick toenails
- Plantar warts and fungal problems
- Athletes foot, shin splints and foot injuries

 

The benefits of DVA extend beyond the physical; we have worked with patients who are living with mental health conditions and who have seen a benefit to their overall wellbeing through all the treatments.
